Fondcup 1st Runner Up - Iguodala Faith

Faith Iguodala Etinosasere is 23 years old, a graduate of Linguistics from the University of Benin (UNIBEN), Edo State, Nigeria. She is the first child of two siblings in a family of four, she is an entrepreneur, who is into cosmetics and runs a training outfit for models, called Geraldine Modelling Academy (GMA) in Benin City, Edo State. Faith had her primary, secondary, and university education in Warri, Delta State and Benin City in Edo state, Nigeria respectively.

Faith Iguodala EtinosasereMy journey into pageantry began as a child. I was just six years old, when I was crowned Queen Esther in 2004 in Church of GOD mission, Warri, Delta state.

After I developed interest in pageantry, I got attracted to Olutosin Araromi, who was Miss Universe Nigeria 2019. I liked her aura and carriage. She set her goals and was able to achieve them, her fighting spirit gave me the strength, courage and conviction I needed to build the confidence I needed to excel.

I continued practicing and going for modeling classes after I got into the university, then in 2015, I was part of the contestants for the most beautiful girl in my department in University of Benin, I modelled for a clothing line in that same year. I participated in other pageants, like Miss Tourism Nigeria, where I became the first runner up, I then contested for Miss Sambema Hotel in 2019 and emerged the winner.

Face of Niger Delta Cultural pageant contest was beyond my expectations and my experience was awesome because it was different from the normal pageantry, I was familiar with, especially the tasks, it was more of boosting and promoting our culture. I learned how to make native cooking stove with mud, though it was a task I couldn’t have a perfect finishing, but it was exciting and educating. We made brooms and our local meals. We were empowered with vocational skills, like the making of air freshener, soap, perfumes, liquid soap, baking etc. It was a beautiful and unforgettable experience for me.

My dream is to establish one of the best modeling institutions, where I can groom models and pageant models in Nigeria.

My pet project as the first runner up for Fae of Niger Delta Cultural pageant 2021/2022, is to promote and showcase our rich history, culture, and tradition in a quiz competition with secondary school students tagged THE CLAN, which will be aired on cable channels, local TV stations and online channels within and outside the country.
The Clan is an initiative of the Face of Niger Delta Cultural pageant, that is initiated to create awareness, enlighten, and educate our young generations about our history, culture, and tradition that is gradually going into extinction, through a quiz competition amongst secondary school students from Junior Secondary school three (JSS3) to those in Senior Secondary school (SSS3).

About 65% of children between the ages of 10 and 18 years in the Niger Delta region, have no proper and comprehensive knowledge on the history, culture, and tradition of our people. Due to this, the vital parts of our history, culture, and tradition within the region is at the
brink of experiencing complete extinction. In the next 50 to 100 years, the history, culture, and traditions of some parts of the Niger
Delta region would be completely lost and forgotten, if no action is taken to deliberately bring us back to our roots.

It is important that we know who we really are as a people, as this will help us appreciate our values and beliefs more, caution the younger generation and help fix our crumbling economy and unite us as one people. Therefore, passing this historical and very important knowledge to the younger generation, will aid the preservation the history, culture, traditions, values, ethics, beliefs, and lifestyle of the Niger Delta people.
